Dutch fashion company Garcia Jeans asked me to design placement prints and AOP's for their fall 2016 private label collection.
All the prints are sublimation prints created in Adobe Photoshop.
I've been creating the collections for Dutch brand Chaos & Order from winter 2015 until winter 2018.
The brand is very colourful and has a unique style, so every season I enjoyed creating the colourcard, concepts, styles and prints together with the owner.
During my time there I updated the workflow with new technical sketches and I updated the styles with new shapes and refined detailing.
I introduced concepts per theme that could be used in the photoshoots and on- and offline magazines and other advertisement.
I created all over prints and artworks with Adobe Illustrator and updated the trimmings.
Babyface commissioned me to create the toddler girls collection for fall 2016.
First I created a concept and colourcard, followed bij a collection build-up to make sure the price range and style combinations were in order and nice sets could be made.
After that I started sketching the styles, print and fabric idea's
The artworks and all over prints were created using a combination of hand drawing, watercolour and collage. (finished in Adobe Photoshop)
I created the technical drawings in Adobe Illustrator.
I've always been a huge admirer of the wonderful world of the deep sea,
with it's bioluminescent fish and other out-of-this world organisms.
I was inspired by the Mariana trench, a 2,5 km long trench deep in the Pacific Ocean, a place where even recently new species of flora and fauna were discovered.
The result is a story about a translucent woman who lives deep in the ocean and is frightening and beautiful at the same time.
I've designed one A2 poster and 2 patterns. I've used pencil, watercolour and collage techniques and Adobe Photoshop to create the artworks.

In 2010 Geddes & Gillmore commissioned me to assist on designing the women en kidswear collection winter 2012. I designed apparel for women and girls (all product groups; woven en knitwear) placement prints and all over prints.

For the Gorilla I was inspired by screenprint techniques, I used Photoshop to create halftone effects and I shifted the layers to make it look like the screens where moved while printing. It also gives a 'glitch' effect that I really like.
For the woman I was inspired by the 'attack of the 50 foot woman' a cult movie from the sixties.
For the diamond print I used several photo's of old game consoles and I added filters and a geometric design
The other 2 artworks are based on the single speed bike trend.
For the high summer collection of 2013 Dutch kidswear brand NONO commissioned me to help create a graphic concept and design prints and all over prints.
I used a combination of collage techniques in Photoshop, vector drawing in Illustrator , watercolour painting and pencil illustrations by hand to create the artworks.
For the Winter collection of 2014 Dutch kidswear brand NONO commissioned me to help create a graphic concept and design prints and all over prints.

Wehkamp commissioned me to design placed artworks for the Spring / Summer collection of sub-labels Great looks and Own. It was the first time I had the pleasure to design for special sizes (Great looks),
which is a product group I always wanted to design for.
The artworks are made in different techniques, varying from collage photoprint to pencil drawings, hand watercolour, photoshop and vector work. I enriched the prints with beadwork, studs, sequins and foil print.

The designs were used on a range of styles varying from flatknit cardigans to underwear and scarves
I've created apparel collections from concept to salesmensample for several brands.
My method of working is as follows:
After trend research and shopping I create a mood board for a general outlook on style, colour, qualities and silhouettes. My next step is creating a more elaborate build-up of the collection in which I classify each separate article. I start sketching the styles simultaniously.
By working in this way I make sure the collection is balanced style- colour- and price wise.
My experience is it also helps sales with selling the collections in sets to retail.
A small impression of my work during my education at art college.
In 2000 I started my education at the Academy of Arts in Maastricht, a city in the south of the Netherlands.
After the general year I chose to study fine arts where I made (among others) oil paintings, photographs, drawings and installations.
After a year I switched to the fashion department to study applied art. I graduated in 2005 with a fashion collection.
When I was a kid my parents took me on long hikes in the woods to spot birds. Nowadays I still like to go into the woods with my binoculars, so I chose to start a bird-related design project.
For these works I was inspired by the European Kingfisher with it's vibrant colours and I studied the bee-eater for the all over prints.
The designs are a combination of drawings I made with fineliner and watercolour elements.
